Zenith Defy El Primero 21, Black Ceramic Chroma II
Up for sale here is a very cool timepiece from Zenith. Ever since the release of the El Primero 21 in 2017, I’ve regarded this as the most amazing looking and operating skeleton watch on the market. The structure of the movement is on full display, showcasing so much depth into the inner workings of the timepiece. Ref. 49.9013.9004/21.R952
Of course, this has the incredible 1/100th second chronograph, powered by a second mainspring and balance wheel assembly! The timekeeping movement is already a “hi beat” oscillator at 10bps, but that second balance wheel at 100bps is absolutely ridiculous. Simply incredible to see the chrono hand whizzing around the dial once per second!
This variant is known as the “Chroma II,” completely with a pristine black ceramic case and several pops of color throughout, including colored finishing on several pieces of the skeletonized movement.
This timepiece comes as a full set as delivered from the AD, and carries the balance of the factory warranty from 2024.
