Up for sale here is a very nice example of the Rolex Sea-Dweller 43mm, cased in solid stainless steel and with the 43mm black ceramic bezel. Ref. 126600.
For the 50th anniversary of the Sea Dweller in 2017, Rolex released this 43mm Sea Dweller with red lettering- an homage to the original Double Red Sea Dweller in 1967.
In that first year, down below the 6 o’clock marker there is no little crown as can be seen on ALL current model watches. This is what designates it as a MK1 dial- in 2018, Rolex started putting the little crown in between Swiss Made, making the MK2 dial. ALL 2017s are MK1, making it the true Anniversary year timepiece. I have seen several 2018s with MK1, as there were some watches made in 2017, but sold in 2018. This is the first model year 2019 I’ve seen with the MK1 dial!
Sure, it’s just a tiny little crown instead of a normal tick mark, but I think that’s a pretty cool story.
This timepiece comes as a full set as delivered from the AD, and is in excellent condition.
