Up for sale here is one of the finest offerings in the Nautilus lineup- the 5980 flyback chronograph. This variant comes cased in stainless steel and 18k gold, with a blue sunburst dial. Ref. 5980/1AR.
Although the 5980 was recently discontinued from the Patek catalog, it’s incredible to see how well thought out this timepiece is. The 28-520 movement is a flyback chronograph, equipped with a vertical clutch. This greatly minimizes the friction while running the chronograph, allowing for the chrono sweep hand to be used as a running seconds hand. Along this line of thinking, there is no need for a seconds sub-dial, so it does not appear on the watch! And since the chronograph is a flyback, it allows for precise setting of the seconds hand as the minute rolls over.
Comes with the original box and papers dated in 2014.
